Synopsis: CMA USA stands for Certified Management Accountant, a globally recognised finance certification offered by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA. It has 2 exam parts, takes 6–18 months to complete, and opens doors to CFO, FP&A, and senior finance roles worldwide, including in India.

What is CMA USA?

CMA USA is a professional certification in management accounting and financial management, awarded by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), a US-based body founded in 1919 with members in 150+ countries.

Unlike a degree, it is a credential that validates your expertise in financial planning, analysis, control, and decision support, the skills companies need in senior finance roles.

It is not the same as CMA India (offered by ICMAI). The two are separate certifications from separate bodies.
